Rookies of the year 2015:

Ms Anna Bäckman, Ms Minna Lindholm, Ms Sophie Storckenfeldt, Ms Michaela Benedetti, Ms Sybill Kincses, Ms Birgitta Röstlund, Mr Nils Ellefsen, Mr Scott and last but not least the "Santiago-family".

24 out of 33 old members did better during 2015 compared to 2015 - Bravo!

AWARD OF SHAME 2015

However 9 members performed worse compared to the year before - these were:

Ms Anna Lööf, Mr Ulf Lööf, Ms Helena Ottosson, Mr Ulf Ottosson, Ms Louise Nordfors, Ms Lena Josefsson, Ms Solveig Ellefsen, Mr Lars Karder and Ms Bettina Pölking.

The male award of shame

It is of course within this group we find the receivers of the awards of shame. The receiver of the male award of shame - "The rubber frog prince" - goes to a person who will receive the same award for a second time, with lousy 7 walks and 80 km and the first member to receive a written warning from the committee:  Mr Lars Karder.

The female award of shame - "The rubber frog princess": with its great mercy, the jury (the jury consists of Anna and Thomas and we have this assignment for the rest of our lives) decided not to select a receiver of the female award of shame this year. It will be kept for coming years. However, Ms Bettina Pölking is hereby given a yellow card - a strong warning. You should shape up! 6 walks in 2014, 6 walks in 2015. 77 km in 2014, 63 km in 2015. Perform better or you will see the red card next year.

Male Rookie of the year

Male rookie of the year is a very young walker. He started to walk with the club on the 19th of April 2015 at the age of seven. During 2015 he walked 25 times and 277 km and he turned eight years old in July. Male rookie of the years is of course our youngest member: Fabian!

Female rookie of the year

They started to walk with the club on the 8th of March. With 37 walks and 428 km the award goes to Nora and her best friend Ms Anna Bäckman!

Best male walker

The Crémant-cooler is the award for the best male walker.  Previous winner was Mr Ulf Lööf in 2013 and 2014. This year we have two strong candidates:

The first candidate is the President, Mr Thomas Vinell, with 56 walks and exactly 800 km. He was in 2015 the third best overall walker in terms of number of walks and kilometres and number two in the marathon league (total number of walks).

The second candidate is Mr Jan Daresjö, who finally stepped up from his bed and love nest. He did 45 walks and 783 km and he is also number one in terms of average km per walk: 17.40 and number four in the marathon league.

Best female walker

The walking stick is the award for the best female walker. Previous winners of this award have been Ms Ebba Odhner in 2013 and Ms Ulrika Storckenfeldt in 2014. Also here we have two strong candidates:

The first candidate is Ms Jeanette Nilsson, who in spite of the fact that she is resident in Sweden even though one can conclude that she for some reason visits Luxembourg quite frequently. She managed to walk 25 times and 389 km during the year. She has also a very high figure in terms of km per walk, 15.56. It seems that Ms Nilsson has stepped up from the same bed as mentioned before.

The second candidate is Ms Ingrid Vinell. She had 57 walks and was the first female member to walk more than 800 km during one year (804 km to be exact), only beaten by one in 2015. She is also the leader of the marathon league with 209 walks and 2 680 km. It should however also be mentioned that Ms Anna Lööf is the leader of the marathon league in terms of number of walks with 225.

Winner of the walking stick - The club's grand old lady - Ms Ingrid Vinell!

Best overall performance

Finally, it's time for the most prestigious price of our club - "The Shoe". The previous winners are Ms Anna Lööf in 2013 and Ms Ingrid Vinell in 2014.

At last year's General Assembly I said "He will go for the kill next year", and he did. Most walks during the year: 61. Most kilometres during the year: amazing 1050 km. He is also second best in terms of km per walk: 17.21, only beaten by long-legged Jan. He started to walk on the 29th of May 2014 and is already number 6 in the marathon league.

The winner is of course: Mr. Carlo Otto!
